Summer Detox


Can you feel the explosion and reinvention of mother nature all around you, preparing for the approach of Summer?

Would you like to create ease and lightness in your life and body?

Yesterday's New Moon signified new beginnings and fresh starts. This weekend is a perfect time to begin new ventures, set clear intentions, acknowledge goals, and commit to your vision for the month(s) ahead.

Here are 5 ways to celebrate the coming of Summertime, clearing out of the old, making conscious space for the new:

1. Take 3 days off from eating any solid foods.  
It's incredible what this simple yet profound action can shift and catalyze. You can enjoy all kinds of juices (the more dark green leafies the better, but fruits are fine too), smoothies and soups. You'll give your digestive system a break, and feel so good and light after!

2. Do a house clean-out.
What things do you really need and love in your home? Maybe there are things you haven't used in years and that could be given away to charity or thrown out? Clothes? Toiletries? Groceries? Not only does it feel a good to get rid of things but to give something away and know that someone else can benefit is even better.

3. Freshen up your home!
Put on some awesome tunes on your stereo, open the windows and let fresh air in, light some essential oils in a burner and/or burn sage or palo santo. Put out new bedsheets and towels and shake your carpets out.

4. Decorate with fresh flowers.
If you can find some delicate wild flowers then go with those, otherwise find some in your nearest flower shop. If you have a balcony or garden plant seeds for herbs and spices and create a cozy place to hang out.

5. Treat yourself to an at-home spa day!
Do a full body scrub, face and hair masks and enjoy a bath with soothing oils. Finish off by applying a hydrating body oil like virgin coconut or raw sesame oil.

And, perhaps most important, clear out junk in your energetic body with a delicious and nourishing yoga and/ or meditation practice.
