We are so honoured to welcome Ty Landrum, the director of the Yoga Workshop in Boulder, Colorado, for his first time visit to Zagreb, Croatia.  This week-long immersion is ideal for Ashtanga Yoga teachers, those on the path of becoming Ashtanga Yoga teachers, as well as practitioners who want to take their practice to a deeper physical, mental and spiritual levels.

If you practice or teach Ashtanga Yoga or want to learn more about it, this is a wonderful opportunity to spend one full week stepping deep into this beautiful tradition. With daily morning Mysore-style self-practice safely guided by Ty, and technique and philosophy workshops, each student regardless of their experience, will be able to deepen and enrich their practice.

The Essence of Ashtanga

Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga is a method of opening ourselves to the fullness of ordinary experience.  The practice works with opposing forces of breath and invites these to align.  When the breath aligns, the experience of the body opens up, revealing endless patterns of sensation.  The practice is to be present with these patterns, allowing them to unfold in the open expanse of our awareness.  Through this practice, we give ourselves space, and we allow our minds to breathe.  Our thoughts and feelings begin to expand and contract in an open flow of consciousness. 

In this workshop, we explore some techniques from the Hatha tradition that bring this experience alive—tracing internal currents of breath, balancing subtle patterns of sensation, moving our bodies from the inside out, and settling ever more deeply into the postures themselves.  These techniques reflect the Tantric origins of Ashtanga.  They allow us to touch the depth and brilliance of our experience, so we can feel the contemplative essence of Ashtanga with the whole breathing body.  This essence is compassion, or perfect openness to reality. 

 

MYSORE WEEK

We’ll do 5 days of morning Mysore style self-practice. These Mysore classes are small and friendly, so you’ll get lots of individual attention.

We’re asking you to commit to five days minimum, and in return you will get a memorable experience on your path of transformation. You will have the time to get to know Ty and for him to get to know you and your practice.
