THE WAY OF THE SHAMANS

“The Earth remembers who you are”

There are places on this Earth that remember — places that breathe with us, sing through us, and awaken something ancient within our bones. When we find ourselves in their presence, the journey becomes pilgrimage. Peru’s Sacred Valley is one of these places, a living prayer waiting to be walked.

Journey with Dee Koprivc and Sandra D. Bianco into the heart of the Andes.
A land where the mountains live and listen. Where rivers carry ancient prayers. Where every stone holds the codes of memory and each breath is a portal to the sacred.

This journey unfolds in two chapters:

For seven days we dive into a deep immersion into daily yogic and shamanic practices. We weave together ancient traditions from opposite sides of the world — each a mirror for the exploration of the Self. Both yoga and shamanism share a common language of union, remembrance, and direct communion with the divine. We move through body and spirit, temples and waters, guided by the living wisdom of the Sacred Valley.

Following the retreat we gather in beautiful Cusco to integrate. Here the invitation opens for an optional ascent into the untouched Ausangate region — at 4500m altitude. Apu Ausangate is a place of deep reverence. This ascent experience is only for those called to walk even closer to the Spirit of the Earth. There, the land is not scenery but living spirit — Pachamama whispering through color, through silence, through the beating wings of the condor. This is a journey deeper into the footsteps of the shamans, where the mountains themselves become our teachers, guiding us to listen and to remember.

THE PROGRAM

Our program taught by Dee Koprivc & Sanda D. Bianco, weaves together the common threads of yogic and shamanic traditions, exploring their shared reverence for interconnection, the wisdom of Nature and the elements, and the pathways they offer to reach deeper states of consciousness. We will journey into these ancient teachings, whose timeless aim is to guide us back to our true nature and remind us to live from the heart.

YOGIC PRACTICES

Each day begins with an embodied yoga practice led by Dee — a living, breathing, movement prayer to weave the day’s teachings, sacred sites, and shamanic wisdom deep into the fabric of body, heart, and mind. Through thematic Vinyasa flows, devotional Bhakti chanting, breathwork, and meditation, Dee invites us to root the day's medicine into our bones. Practice becomes preparation — a tender waking of the senses, readying us to walk the sacred lands with wide eyes and wide hearts.

SHAMANIC WISDOM

Ayni, the sacred law of reciprocity in the Incan tradition, teaches us to live in right relationship with all life. Guided by Sandra D. Bianco and our local shamans, we will step into the living spirit of Ayni through sacred ceremonies, healing initiations, ancestral blessings, offerings to Pachamama, and optional plant medicine journeys. Each day, we are invited deeper into the Andean cosmovision, and the remembering of our place within it all.

The Pacchanta Trek:

Into The Splendor of Pachamama

A wild, off-the-map journey into the high-altitude Andes, Ausangate Region. Here the air is thin, the silence deep, and the spirit loud. We walk into the heart of the mountains, trading comfort for simplicity, and finding something richer.

Nights are spent in very humble village lodges, meals shared with locals who live close to the land. It’s raw, real, and alive — a sacred kind of adventure for those who feel the call.

While this is truly once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, to visit one of the world’s most incredible spiritual places, it may not be for everyone. As we reach for the high altitude Andean region, with elevation of around 4500m, your decision to join will depend on your health, physical ability and a level of desire for an adventure of a lifetime.

You may wish to join in after we check out from Samadhi, or you may wish to remain in Cusco and prepare for your onward journey.

This leg of the journey is optional (it is not included in the price of the retreat).

DAY 9, April 12 Sunday -  Pacchanta Life

Arrive to Pacchanta (4200m) where we spend the afternoon & night high up in the Andes with the traditional local communities, sharing a meal, and enjoying the natural hot springs of Pacchanta. This is a unique opportunity to learn about the customs of these remote mostly tourist-free traditional communities, their agriculture and textile-making, their shamanic practices, and ways of life.  Simple lunch & dinner included.

DAY 10, April 13 Monday -Apu Ausangate Blessing

Trek for about 5 hours around the Andean lakes (Azulcocha, Otorongo, Pucacocha, Alqacocha y Q’omercocha), hiking or horseriding through breathtaking sceneries of snow-covered peaks.
